Please read these Terms of Service ("Terms", "Terms of Service") carefully before using the Unfade mobile application (the "Service" or "App") operated by the developer ("us", "we", or "our"). Your access to and use of the Service is conditioned on your acceptance of and compliance with these Terms. These Terms apply to all visitors, users, and others who access or use the Service. By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you disagree with any part of the terms, then you may not access the Service.

We grant you a revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable, limited license to download, install, and use the App strictly in accordance with these Terms. The App is licensed, not sold, to you for personal, non-commercial use only. We reserve all rights not expressly granted to you.

Educational and Cultural Purpose: Unfade is an interactive movie trivia quiz application designed solely for educational, cultural, and entertainment purposes. The App aims to promote film appreciation, test cinematic knowledge, and encourage the discovery of motion pictures through visual recognition.
Randomized Game Mechanics: Cinematic frames displayed during gameplay are algorithmically selected on a strictly random basis according to user-configured settings (such as difficulty level, decade, genre, or preset categories).
No On-Demand Content: The App is purely a quiz game and does not function as a media gallery, streaming service, or image catalog. You acknowledge and agree that you have no ability to select, request, search, or view specific movie frames or titles on demand.
System and Network Requirements: To function as intended, the App requires an active internet connection to load dynamic metadata and visual content from third-party services. We do not guarantee uninterrupted functionality or offline availability for all features.

Content Warning: Because cinematic frames are derived directly from motion pictures of various genres, certain visual content displayed within the App may depict mature, strong, or violent scenes not suitable for children. The App displays a content warning on first launch to advise users of potentially sensitive visual material.
Official Rating and Parental Control: The App’s suitability for younger users is determined by its official content rating on the Google Play Store (assigned via the International Age Rating Coalition - IARC / PEGI system). Parents and legal guardians are strongly advised to consult the official store content rating and utilize their device’s parental control settings to determine whether the App is appropriate for a child in their care. Access to the App by minors remains under the sole responsibility and discretion of their parents or legal guardians.

App Intellectual Property: The App's code, structure, user interface design, logos, and original content are the exclusive property of the developer and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
Third-Party Visual Assets and Metadata: The App does not claim any ownership, copyright, or licensing rights over the movie frames, posters, audio tracks or metadata displayed. All copyrights and visual trademarks belong exclusively to their respective studios, production companies, and legal rightsholders.
Doctrine of Fair Use: All film stills, screenshots, audio tracks and related visual content in the App are the property of their respective copyright holders and are used solely for the transformative purposes of identification, trivia, commentary, criticism, and education, consistent with the fair use doctrine and applicable copyright exceptions.
Attribution to Sources: Visual frames are hosted by and loaded directly from independent third-party platforms, specifically FilmGrab (https://film-grab.com/) and Flim (https://app.flim.ai/). Movie metadata are supplied via The Movie Database (TMDB) , streaming availability details are provided by JustWatch and soundtrack audio previews are provided by Apple Music.
The App is an independent project and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any film studio or any of the above providers. All trademarks and third-party marks remain the property of their respective owners.

By using the App, you agree not to:
Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms.
Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or extract the source code or local database assets of the App.
Scrape, extract, or exploit the API integrations or image feeds utilized by the App for external commercial or non-commercial projects.
Tamper with local device storage or modify app data in an unauthorized manner.

All game stats, streaks, historical logs, and user preferences are stored exclusively on your local device (via SharedPreferences). You understand and agree that clearing application storage via your device's settings or uninstalling the App will result in the permanent deletion of your saved progress. We bear no responsibility for any loss of game progress or data.

The App will operate uninterrupted, error-free, or securely at any specific time or location.
Movie metadata, localized titles, or streaming provider listings retrieved from third-party APIs will always be completely accurate or up to date.
Third-party frame links or external API endpoints will remain permanently accessible or functional.

In no event shall the developer be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages—including, without limitation, loss of data, loss of goodwill, device malfunction, or internet usage costs—arising from or connected to your access to, use of, or inability to use the Service.
